Inside the Crumb & Current — Artisan Bakery Website experience
Crumb & Current is a premium, responsive demonstration website for a fictional artisan bakery in Bristol. It is built to demonstrate a client-ready customer experience centered on three practical conversions: visit a counter, order for pickup, and request catering. The experience is intentionally designed as a bakery operations board rather than a generic café template.
Design premise: “Millwork Signal” combines contemporary Swiss wayfinding, Japanese food editorialism, charcoal work surfaces and a reserved Proof Lime signal. Its signature Bake Arc doubles as page progress feedback and direct home-section navigation.
The application uses a static React frontend with locally maintained demo data and a provider-backed commerce adapter. A visitor can filter the daily menu, add products to an in-browser basket, choose a collection counter and time, validate pickup details, review the summary, and reach a clear demo confirmation state.
