Project overview

Inside the Cedar & Current — Sustainable Design-Build experience

Cedar & Current is a premium, responsive static website concept for a fictional Portland, Oregon sustainable design-build studio. It is designed to communicate a climate-first residential offer—high-performance homes, deep energy retrofits, passive design advising, and resilience planning—while making the conversion path to a consultation clear and calm.

The visual direction is called Climate Ledger: Pacific Northwest warm modernism, tactile natural materials, light tonal depth, and editorial performance notation. The site was built as a portfolio-quality frontend demonstration and does not represent an operating construction business or collect inquiry data.

Key features and interaction highlights

01

Conversion

Consultation and contact forms with browser validation, error messaging, loading-style success feedback, and a simulated redirect to /thank-you. No data is persisted or transmitted.

02

Signature interaction

The Performance Assembly moves from orientation through envelope, insulation, heat pump, solar/battery, and finished home.

03

Navigation

Responsive sticky header, desktop navigation, animated mobile drawer, complete footer navigation, and normal forward route navigation resets to scrollY = 0.

04

Editorial content

Services, project-note listings, a detailed Wildwood Passive House case-study style page, technical process, service areas, field-note journal, FAQs, and contact paths.

05

Responsive behavior

Intentional layouts at mobile, tablet, desktop, and wide desktop breakpoints. The hero, project rail, performance scene, forms, galleries, and grids recompose for small screens.

06

Accessibility

Semantic landmarks, skip-ready main target, meaningful labels, keyboard-visible focus, touch-sized controls, accessible accordions/tabs, image alt text, and a prefers-reduced-motion fallback.

Visual gallery

Three genuine captures from the live deployment show the opening view, an interior content section, and the responsive mobile composition.
